Austria: Jewish shops, children boycotted by Muslims

Via Wiener Zeitung (h/t Forum gegen Antisemitismus):

Julie Handman heads the Jewish Institute for Adult Education (JIFE) in Vienna.  She says many students ask about security.  In the summer people passing by outside shouted "fucking Jews" through the open windows.

Josef Sarikov, vice-president of the Jewish orthodox community (IKG) and head of the Bukharan community, says antisemitism dominates everyday life for Jews.  His family owns several mobile-phone shops in the Fifth District, but his son is afraid of taking on the business.  Their storefronts have been smashed numerous times.  He and his family have often dealt with antisemitism, such as when young Turks come in and harass them, and even ask the Turkish employees why they don't kill their Jewish boss.

His employees also tell him about the incitement against Jews on Turkish television.  The young Turks then come to his shop and say "we won't buy from you anymore".  His son has gone to school with some of them.  Sarikov says that though the young Turks grew up in Austria, they're being fed propaganda by Erdogan.

Members of the Bukharan community say that kids who play in the playground with a kippa or Tzitizit are often told by other kids that they won't play with them.
